Kim Prevette

Vice-President of Benefit Plan Services

Kim Prevette was born in Rome, New York and was raised in Newport News, Virginia. She Graduated from Warwick High School where she participated in the work study program her junior and senior years of High School and started her career in insurance and bookkeeping. She worked for Ballou & Palmer, a property and casualty independent insurance agency for 5 years. 


When her husband joined the U.S. Army she continued to work in Georgia and North Carolina for independent agents up until she had her son in 1983. After taking a short break from working to enjoy being a full time mother, she found herself working for Ken Hodge, part time in the life insurance market and part time as a teller at a local bank.  Meanwhile, her husband was pursuing a career as a Realtor which he has been doing for 32 years.


After making the decision to work full time the opportunity was given to her to work for Ken as a full time employee.  She then got her Life Insurance agent’s license and has remained a licensed agent for over 30 years.  She is co-founder and Vice President of Benefit Plan Services. Together she and Ken have continued to build BPS based on their motto – “Ordinary Products Extraordinary Service” 


In recognition of her contributions of time and talent, to the Rotary Club of Newport News’ successful effort to raise $360,000 for a Bridges to Prosperity project, in Zambia, Kim was awarded recognition as a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow.

Kim and her husband, Lee have been married over 40 years and live in Gloucester. The have a son that has been with Bayport Credit Union for over 15 years. Kim enjoys attending strength training and conditioning classes at the gym with some friends that she has worked out with for over 10 years. She also enjoys water sports and spending time with family and friends. She is a certified scuba diver and has visited several tropical locations to enjoy the warm, beautiful blue waters.
